We held our first meeting on September 10th 2015, and had a fantastic response - about fifty women attended, and there was a great atmosphere as we all found out more about the W.I. nationally, and how to set up our local branch.
Refreshments are provided at each event, along with a chance to win the raffle and to socialise.
Meetings are usually held at the Congregational Hall, South Road, Bretherton, starting at 7.30 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month.
We are very grateful for the support of our local friends, and members of the Congregational Church in setting up this new venture.
We are also very keen to hear the views of our members about how you would like to develop Bretherton W.I. Every branch has a different style, and we want to ensure we cover as many areas of interest as possible in our programme next year.
Women of all ages are most welcome to come along and join us at one of the above meetings, to find out more. Several members have joined because they are new to the village or want to meet more people, so if you are in this position too don't be shy - you will not be alone and will be made very welcome.
